Having witnessed the damage caused by local flooding during the 2019 General Election, one of my first actions as MP has been to meet with those affected to address residents’ concerns and develop a plan to prevent future instances. I am determined to present the case for the residents of Rushcliffe to relevant government authorities.
In October 2020, I released the 'Rushcliffe Flood Report 2020' which details the flooding situation in the villages and towns across the constituency and what is being done to tackle flooding in Rushcliffe. You can find and read the report here. In addition to this, I helped 70 constituents from 8 villages raise issues with local flood agencies to try and reduce the risk of future flooding. I also regularly meet with the Environment Agency, Severn Trent and the Highways Agency to see what more can be done to mitigate flooding in Rushcliffe.
