Do you work in a local shop, pub, GP practice, school, nursery, sports club or any other public facing organisation? If so read on....we are rolling out a network of J9 Safe Spaces across Rushcliffe, where survivors of domestic abuse can go to access life-saving resources, such as the use of a telephone, helpline contact numbers, and a place to make that call. Your role? Being willing to listen, pass on the contact details of local services who can help and letting them use your phone if they need it.. This week @harkersfarmshop @fordes_coffee @parlourwestbridgford and @thrumptoncricketclub became part of the J9 network. Huge thanks to them for attending and a special thanks to @parlourwestbridgford for hosting us and of course to our dedicated J9 trainer, Nicky Brindley.
What is J9?
Janine Mundy, a mother of two, was killed by her estranged husband whilst he was on police bail. Janine used to sign off her text messages ‘J9’. In her memory, the J9 initiative was created to open doors to support and to create a network of safe places for survivors to speak out and get help.
