I met up with Police and Crime Commissioner Caroline Henry, representatives from Juno Women’s Aid, along with other Conservative women to increase awareness around domestic abuse and violence towards women.
The aim of the event, organised by Amina Quraishi, Chairwoman of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire's Conservative Women’s Organisation (CWO), was to keep the conversation moving towards real, practical changes in society and Government that support women’s needs and safety.
I was able to discuss the J9 initiative and how it’s worked in Rushcliffe to support survivors of domestic abuse. J9 trains organisations to signpost survivors to professional services. A network of J9 safe spaces now exists around Rushcliffe and if you would like to be J9 trained, please email me at ruth.edwards.mp@parliament.
