Last week, I spoke at a public meeting in Barton-in-Fabis about the newest planning application for a proposed gravel extraction site next to the village.
This is on the same site as the last application we successfully opposed in 2021.
There are serious concerns about detrimental impacts on the surrounding area and villages, including the nearby Attenborough Nature Reserve.
Thank you to the 100+ people from across the area who turned up to show their support. Thank you also to the SAVE campaign who have been tirelessly working to mobilise the local community against a gravel pit on this site for 10 years. They have put together some great resources on how you can object to the gravel pit here:https://www.savecampaign.net/how-to-object
