Supporting British Choices:
The government is backing calls to encourage customers to buy British when shopping online.
Providing financial to boost sustainable farming practices:
Supporting campaigns to highlight the exceptional taste and quality of home-grown meat and dairy products so we can enjoy the best of British!
Expanding Export Markets:
We're hiring five additional agri-food attaches to unlock new trading markets and boost UK food and drink exports, contributing £24 billion to our economy.
Environmentally-Friendly Farming:
Our flexible farming schemes support high-quality food production while prioritizing environmental conservation. A record 32,000 Countryside Stewardship agreements are in place for 2023, a 94% increase since 2020.
Small Abattoirs Fund:
A £4 million Small Abattoir Fund will ease operational burdens, enhance animal welfare, and encourage investment in new technologies, supporting farmers in reaching local and international markets.
Innovation & Automation:
The government is investing £30 million for farmers to adopt automated, robotic, and solar technologies, reducing fossil fuel use, improving energy resilience, and progressing toward net-zero emissions.
