Last month, Rushcliffe MP Ruth Edwards MP launched her annual ‘Spring Poster Competition’ with the theme of staying safe during the coronavirus pandemic. She called on primary school children across Rushcliffe to design a poster encouraging people to stay safe by washing their hands.
Now, the winners have been announced. The overall winner of the competition was Fabian Pike, aged 7 from Cotgrave followed by two runners-up; Imogen Tongue, aged 11 from West Bridgford and Lydia Nixon, aged 4 from West Bridgford.
All the entries have been displayed on Ruth’s social media pages to help get the word out about the importance of washing your hands with soap for 20 seconds to help control the spread of coronavirus. To view all the entries head on over to fb.com/RuthEdwardsForRushcliffe.
Commenting on the competition Ruth Edwards said:
“Judging all the submissions was incredibly difficult, we clearly have a lot of young budding artists in the constituency who have all put in a lot of time and effort to create their posters.
“It was an absolute pleasure to see all these wonderful designs come into my inbox. A huge thank you to all the parents, schools and community groups who helped to promote this competition to so many children in Rushcliffe.
“I have written to all the winners and to everyone who entered to congratulate them for all their hard work. I very much look forward to welcoming Fabian, Imogen and Lydia down to Parliament when it is safe to do so and take the opportunity to congratulate them in person too.
“Everyone who entered the competition should be really proud of their fantastic efforts.”
