Recently I spoke in support of cracking down on Hare coursing. We have a proud history of supporting animal welfare and our rural communities which is why I am pleased we are increasing the maximum penalty for trespassing in pursuit of game up to 6 months imprisonment.
We are also introducing a new offence of trespassing with the intention of using a dog to search for or pursue a Hare.
Hare coursing is a huge problem in our part of the country so I am thankful the Government is listening to our rural communities who say enough is enough.
