Today in Parliament, I spoke in the debate on the Environment Bill which came back to the House of Commons today.
I spoke about:
What this landmark Bill will do for British biodiversity and nature, in particular how it could help native British species like the Brown Long-Eared Bat. This Bill includes measures to halt the decline in Nature in England by 2030.
Planning and house building. New homes are important, but we must build in a way that helps nature, not destroys it.
The new due diligence measure, ensuring our supply chains are free from illegal deforestation by requiring large businesses to only use forest risk commodities that have been produced within local laws.
This Bill is world-leading and is a big step in the right direction for the halt of nature decline and our fight against climate change.
