From the Chairman & Board of Directors of The Nottingham Heritage Railway, Mike Newton, Ron Whalley, Peter Wilson & John Akinin:
"The Nottingham Heritage Railway is delighted to announce that Ruth Edwards, MP for Rushcliffe, has become patron of the railway.
Ruth has a strong record of engagement with the local area and we are excited to have her on board.
In addition to supporting heritage operations, the Board is looking forward to working closely with Ruth on job creation initiatives at the Ruddington site, the development of the East Midlands as a hydrogen technology cluster and environmental improvements in the local area. Discussions have already taken place on these issues.
Ruth notes ‘I am delighted to become a patron of Nottingham Heritage Railway. I look forward to working with the team on getting the railway up and running again and supporting their exciting ideas to create jobs and support the development of hydrogen powered trains in the future’
We welcome Ruth and her team to the NHR and look forward to a close association with our local MP."
Great to be a part of this! I'm looking forward to working with the new board and all the staff and volunteers committed to restoring and conserving our railway heritage in Rushcliffe and Notts!
