Protecting the Environment

Ruth in a hard hat and reflective jacket on a construction site

Bringing skilled, green jobs to Rushcliffe is one of the best ways of preserving our environmental legacy. Ruth is advocating the development of a green tech park on the site of the Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station and the creation of a cleaner, green economy.

Ruth has backed the new Environment Bill in parliament, introduced by the Conservatives, to mandate local coucils to include food and glass collection in door to door recycling. This will ensure Rushcliffe's residents enjoy a more comprehensive recycling service. She is also passionate about conservation, cleaning up our air and marine habitats and the development of greener homes.
